‘WE GOT PRIDE’ – The official EuroPride Valletta 2023 song

The official EuroPride Valletta 2023 song has been released – ‘WE GOT PRIDE’ – celebrating Malta’s positive journey towards fighting discrimination and promoting equality, with love as a powerful force that unites us all, regardless of personal choices or family backgrounds.

The song sends a strong message that love knows no bounds, celebrating a society that embraces diversity, allowing us to live together, proud, loud, busy, or quiet – just as we are!

The songwriter, Matt ‘Muxu’ Mercieca, believes the song serves as a reminder of how far the country has come in terms of civil rights, and how far we have all come together. It’s a positive sentiment for the ultimate celebration.

Composer Elton Zarb sees the music as a reflection of how the Maltese and Gozitans will come together for a big celebration in September. With this energetic song, they aim to transmit the message of equality they strongly believe in.

The official EuroPride song features six prominent voices – Glen Vella, Amber, Matt Black, Brooke, Ryan Hili, and Destiny. But the idea is to involve more artists, as they will all sing it during the last days of EuroPride Valletta 2023 in Malta and beyond.

This song marks another step forward in the work being done for the well-being of our country. It’s a 30-day countdown to this historic event, celebrating not just our achievements in equality but also paving the way for stronger civil rights, not just for us but for all of Europe.

The President of Allied Rainbow Communities, Maria Azzopardi, says one of the main goals of EuroPride Valletta 2023 is to bring our vast and vibrant community together to show the world how proud we are of ourselves and our beloved ones. “We couldn’t be more excited about this song, featuring various local artists, as a showcase of our country’s love.”
